Gann Angles

Gann realised that a price of a stock or commodity would go up or down at a certain speed and some times that speed would accerlate and sometimes Decelerate.

He also noticed that one could measure the time it took or the time it would take to get to a certain price.

He discovered that the 45 degree angle was very important. On a 45 degree angle the price moves for example one cent up or down for every one cent in time being minutes days, weeks or months (being the unit of time measured).

He discovered that the 45 degree angle was very important. On a 45 degree angle the price moves for example one cent up or down for every one cent in time being minutes days, weeks or months (being the unit of time measured).

The next important Angle was the 2 times 1 angle or for every 2 cents in movement the stock or commodity is moving 1 unit of time.

The next important Angle was the 4 times 1 angle. This means that the stock or commodity is moving 4 cents for every unit of time.

The next important Angle is the 8 times 1 angle. Which means that the stock or commodity is moving 8 cents for every unit of time.

The 3 times 1 angle is an important angle to use Gann says after long declines.

Geometric Angles are important to show support and resistance points in the markets in both Time and Price.

This is critical as it may be indicating that if a stock breaks the 45 Angle in price and in Time it may be reversing the direction, going from long to short might be critical.

So the Angles are very important indeed. HOWEVER

In my book Cornerstone Targeting (Tri-Rhythms) part one of the HOLY GRAIL of Trading Targeting Accuracy – Increase your Accuracy to over 99% I have discovered a improved method if you will that the market you are trading will provide you. Below is a Chart on the Australian Top 200 Companies index XJO 200 (date of this chart is 01st August 2011) as you as see the index is falling at greater than 45 degrees which means the bears are in control, and it is falling faster than one point for every one unit in time.
